Abstract

Authors present the results of the exploratory study aiming the adaptation of a measure of spiritual intelligence to the Portuguese population (Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory), based on the multidimensional model (critical existential thinking, personal meaning production, transcendental awareness and conscious state expansion) proposed by King. The Portuguese version replicates the factorial structure of the original inventory, with good reliability diagnoses concerning each of the four subscales. Correlational analyses with measures of future-time perspective, subjective well-being and existential thinking support construct and criterion-related validity. Findings validate the Portuguese version of the measure and the model of spiritual intelligence proposed by King.
