Contents of public television in the Andean community, through pay-TV systems and social networks

Abstract
Public television has the responsibility to share quality content, useful, truthful, objective and independent, in this process the support of citizens is vital to demand that the television service meet its commitments. The effectiveness in fulfilling the mission of public service depends on the forms of distribution of the content generated by public television, with special attention on social networks. To know the opportunities that social networks represent for TV Public in the Andean Community, a quantitative analysis of the diffusion of contents is established, through payment systems, on the based on the statistics of the authorized operators in each nation, and the observation of social networks Facebook , YouTube, Instagram. The variables observed for payment systems are related to the type of operator and scope; for social networks: number of followers, weekly evolution, frequency and interaction of publications, scope of publications. It is suggested as hypothesis: the public television services of the Andean Community countries they use social networks as a priority and the Pay TV as a second screen of coverage The results determine to what extent public televisions take advantage of physical and virtual space as platforms to expand their coverage and distribute content in and outside their territory.
