Resumen

La producción de vino es una de las actividades más antiguas de la humanidad y un elemento emblemático de la industria agroalimentaria en la cuenca del mediterráneo. Existe toda una cultura del vino desde hace siglos que ha llevado a la creación de indicaciones de calidad. Estas indicaciones destacan las propiedades de la región para las características del producto. El turismo es uno de los grandes sectores económicos de la actualidad. Además posee un elevado crecimiento y diversidad en la oferta. Aunque hay antecedentes, es en
las últimas décadas cuando a tomado relevancia la combinación de dos elementos aparentemente contradictorios, como son la producción de vino y el turismo. El turismo del vino aparece en la bibliografía académica con relativa abundancia a partir de los años noventa del siglo XX. En este trabajo se realiza una somera revisión de los temas y áreas de estudio de estos trabajos. Vemos que hay muchos estudios que lo analizan de forma global y otros que se centran en aspectos concretos: gestión de las empresas, diseño de rutas y creación de eventos en el caso de la oferta, y caracterización del consumidor por parte de la demanda (perfil demográfico, percepciones, comportamiento, motivaciones, etc.). En cuanto a las regiones estudiadas, vemos un predominio de los países productores del Nuevo Mundo de cultura anglosajona. Este sesgo se debe a motivos académicos y no sectoriales.
