Environmental problems on a global and national (Portugal)/state (Brazil) scale from the perspective of students from ESECS-IPL and from Centro Universitário de Santa Fé do Sul–UNIFUNEC: Identification and comparative analysis

The present study was carried out in the academic period 2021-2022, based on a questionnaire proposed to students of the Degree in Basic Education, of the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (ESECS-IPL), Portugal, and Degree in Pedagogy, from the University Center of Santa Fé do Sul- UNIFUNEC, in Brazil. Its objective was to know and analyze students’ opinions about the main current environmental problems from a global and national (Portugal) or state (Brazil) perspective, as well as to understand how they self-evaluate their sensitivity to environmental issues. The study highlights the concerns of students from both higher education institutions in relation to current environmental problems, although there are differences in the prioritization of the issues under analysis among the various issues presented.
