Abstract

This study seeks to give us a closer understanding of recent history starting with the current boom in alternative pedagogy in Childhood Education, and to promote its dissemination. For this purpose a review of the literature was carried out examining the different innovative projects (Waldorf, Amara Berri, Reggio Emilia, Democratic schools, Homeschooling, etc.) which focus on the evolution of education in nature over the years and its particular characteristics. Following this, it centers on two outdoor schools in Galicia (Amadahi and Nenea, Medrar Creando), closely examining the different spaces, their temporary organization, the essential activities, the available materials and the relationships that develop there using observational methods and questionnaires completed by the teachers, in order to gain a more in-depth knowledge of these schools.
