El tratamiento de la opcionalidad en el programa minimalista

Resumen

La noción de opcionalidad se ha aplicado tradicionalmente en gramática generativa cuando un mismo conjunto léxico inicial puede originar libremente derivaciones alternativas, obteniendo cada una de ellas una diferente representación gramatical, independientemente del número de pasos precisados para llegar a cada representación. Desde el inicio de la gramática generativa se han formulado análisis opcionales de muchas construcciones alternativas. No obstante, esta óptica cambió drásticamente con el Programa Minimalista. En el presente artículo se indagará en las razones del tratamiento tan restrictivo de la opcionalidad que hace este modelo.
