Review of the book: “Likes” and social approval: a multidimensional analysis of the search for digital recognition
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
This book reflects on the role that digital approval has come to play in people’s lives and on its influence on identity, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships. Through a multidimensional analysis, the authors address the psychological, emotional, cognitive, familial, and social factors involved in the search for online recognition. The book provides a deeper understanding of some of the socio-emotional and educational challenges associated with today’s digital society, as well as the risks arising from an increasing dependence on external validation.
