Crisis management: the organisational communication challenge for PR
Main Article Content
Abstract
Companies and organisations may at some point face unforeseen situations that put their financial, technological or personnel stability at risk. In order to deal with these scenarios, they need management strategies to help manage the specific organisational crisis taking place. The aim of this article is to analyse the problem from three perspectives (systemic, stakeholders, and organisational communication and public relations) in order to establish strategies to prevent a future crisis from having a negative impact on the company’s activities or reputation. The main strategies identified are the establishment of communication policies, identification of stakeholders, and media training.
