Que é primeiro, a teoría ou a práctica? Esta pregunta resume un debate eterno sobre as concepcións da ciencia, os métodos, a adquisición de coñecementos e os modelos de aprendizaxe. As teorías persiguen descubrir aqueles rasgos capaces de explicar como se aprende e predecir os efectos das prácticas. As prácticas, moitas veces rutinarias, están determinadas pola tradición, a autoridade e as teorías maioritarias, mais esta práctica irre­flexiva chega a constituirse como a fonte de coñecemento profesional.
