Abstract

This article draws on research carried out for the INOVAR Project - Itineraries of pedagogical innovation: reference schools and experiences in Portugal in the 20th century (2016-2019), presenting João de Deus Kindergarten (Lisbon)as the case study, with a focus on the school’s pedagogical practices. Due to the fact that this kindergarten dates back to over one hundred years, this research was limited to the time frame from its opening in 1915 until the death of its founder in 1953.
