Abstract

The educational value of nature is a topic that has a long historical trajectory. Since the beginning of life on earth, the human being has had a special bond with the natural environment, evolved a link to the pair of different civilizations. This trend also reflects the educational perspective, when it starts to consider the environment like an area of relevant pedagogical possibilities. Therefore, in this article we stop to analyze this perspective of the nature in the history of education from two aspects: school and leisure. Although the concept of leisure education is limited to contemporary age, in those first moments when he began to use nature as a source of training and conceived the leisure time in an  educational sense, not idleness, associating it with the natural environment and outdoor activities.
