Abstract

This paper reveals findings from a research project about the biographic construction of school counseling via school counselors’ life stories in early childhood and primary education in Galicia. The aim was to rebuild the evolution of their professional experiences in relation with most relevant institutional events.  Historically special education needs has been a main field of intervention in school counseling.  Special education needs is also a main reference in their professional perspective about counseling. Their work shows a yearning of permanent training in special education needs since the beginning of their experience. As part of their teaching perspective is linked to the specific educational contexts.
