Resumen

Las habilidades de imagen mental desempeñan un papel fundamental en numerosos procesos de aprendizaje y en el desarrollo de competencias vinculadas a diferentes ámbitos académicos y profesionales. Este estudio analizó las diferencias en viveza de imagen, control de imagen, rotación mental y capacidad de imagen espacial en alumnado universitario de Arquitectura, Bellas Artes y Psicología. Participaron 240 estudiantes, que completaron pruebas estandarizadas de viveza de imagen, control de imagen, rotación mental e imagen espacial. A diferencia de investigaciones previas, los y las participantes fueron clasificados/as según presentaran niveles altos o bajos en cada habilidad, lo que permitió examinar con mayor precisión los perfiles de rendimiento en cada titulación. Los resultados mostraron que el alumnado de Arquitectura obtuvo ventajas consistentes en varias competencias de imagen mental, especialmente en habilidades espaciales y de rotación mental. Además, entre quienes presentaban niveles elevados de capacidad imaginativa, el alumnado de Arquitectura destacaron en viveza y control de imagen frente a los de Bellas Artes y Psicología. En cambio, las diferencias fueron menos acusadas en los grupos con niveles bajos de algunas habilidades. Estos hallazgos sugieren que las demandas formativas específicas de determinadas titulaciones pueden estar asociadas al desarrollo diferencial de competencias de imagen mental y refuerzan la importancia de considerar estas capacidades en los contextos educativos y de orientación académica.
