Abstract

The botanic gardens carry out functions beyond those related to conservation of vegetative diversity. The environmental education has become one of the main concerns for botanic gardens promoting in visitors the idea of sustainable development. Nevertheless, it is possible that some educational programs were lacking in the environmental education’s true objectives, such as participation and commitment. Therefore, to outline the educational programs it is fundamentally important to consider evaluation and educational research.
