Abstract

This work tries to provide adjusted answers regarding the issue of female literacy culture in Galicia of the Old Regime, socially determined, to a large extent, by the weight of oral culture and the strong limitations of access to formal culture. Its author belongs to the historiographical school of modernists that started Antoino Eiras Roel, and here presents a solid work (essay) that addresses intensively, where the importance of historical sources and multicausal analysis is no less important, together with the use of a very strict methodoloxic treatment.
