O turismo rexenerativo na planificación turística rexional de Nova Zelandia

Resumo
O interese polo turismo rexenerativo xorde como unha resposta ao contexto actual de crise, impulsando un cambio do modelo e o enfoque tradicional que coñecemos no turismo de hoxe. O principal obxectivo do presente traballo de investigación é entender que é a rexeneración e ver como se pode implementar na planificación turística. Para iso realizouse, en primeiro lugar, unha revisión bibliográfica dos principais conceptos relacionados coa rexeneración e o turismo rexenerativo, analizando a súa evolución e os cambios que supón para a planificación turística. A continuación, explóranse diferentes modelos de turismo rexenerativo, buscando unha comprensión profunda da relación entre sustentabilidade e rexeneración no contexto turístico. Por último, os resultados destas indagacións aplicáronse, a través da análise comparativa de plans de xestión de destino a nivel rexional en Nova Zelandia, para a extracción de conclusións sobre a implementación dos principios do turismo rexenerativo na planificación turística deste país pioneiro. Os resultados obtidos han servido para identificar criterios específicos para o desenvolvemento do turismo rexenerativo, baseados na comprensión do turismo como un sistema vivo, interconectado e liderado por relacións auténticas e beneficiosas para todo e todas/os.
