Abstract

Just out of the printing plates comes an edition of the unpublished comedy by José Luis Alonso de Santos, which has a title that is as suggestive as it is enigmatic,"The Devil, the world and my flesh" edited by Abraham Madroñal. The juxtaposition of the terms that make up the title offer the reader an idea of the main lines plot of a comedy that closes a trilogy composed of two other works, "Long live the duke, our lord!" and "The combat of Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma", linked by a group of traveling comedians of the Golden Age led by Lope . With this trilogy, as pointed out by Abraham Madroñal, the author intends to give a vision about the beginnings of the itinerant theater in our country.
