Abstract

The results of the study carried out on four 19th-century Rhenish Stoneware vessels that, being recovered in Cuba, have probably been made in Germany by order of the British Crown, filled with vitriol in Germany or England, and then transported by ship to America. The study includes a formal analysis, based on the concept of chaîne opératoire, and analytical (CAT, DRX, FRX, SEM-EDX). The synthesis of both approaches allows us to reconstruct in detail the biography of the vessels.
