Resumen

Diversas investigaciones han estudiado al entrenador deportivo con el fin de comprender su impacto en el rendimiento, la adquisición de conocimiento y la formación de deportistas. No obstante, hasta la fecha se desconoce un estudio bibliométrico que analice las tendencias de investigación del aprendizaje en el entrenador. Los objetivos del estudio fueron mapear el panorama de producción científica sobre el aprendizaje del entrenador deportivo para identificar vacíos temáticos y desarrollar una revisión exploratoria con el fin de analizar categorías de análisis relacionadas con los procesos de adquisición de conocimiento. La fecha de búsqueda se estableció entre 1998-2024. Se consultaron las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, y Google académico. El análisis fue realizado con el software Bibliometrix. 197 documentos fueron incluidos. Los años 2021 y 2024 reportan la mayor cantidad de estudios publicados. La producción científica acerca del aprendizaje del entrenador deportivo ha sido investigada principalmente desde un enfoque cualitativo (82.22%) y en menor medida cuantitativo (11.11%). Los países más productivos son Reino Unido y Canadá. La revista International Journal of Sport Science and Coaching y la filiación Sheffield Hallam University son quienes han publicado una mayor cantidad de estudios. Los conceptos más relevantes fueron “aprendizaje”, “educación” y “mentoría”. La mayor cantidad de investigaciones se centran en las maneras cómo el entrenador aprende a través de medios formales e informales. El aumento de la productividad académica demuestra una disposición positiva de la comunidad científica internacional por comprender el rol del entrenador deportivo desde la enseñanza-aprendizaje.
