Toni Gironès. Architecture and intuition
Main Article Content
Abstract
This is an interview with the Catalan architect Toni Gironès, whose work serves to illustrate the concept of “minimal construction/maximum intervention". The aim is to explore the theoretical issues that underlie his design and construction process, such as the idea of habitability, seen as a mediation between the inhabitants and the environment in which they live, with their biological and environmental characteristics, but also with certain previously existing aspects he seeks to reveal. Aligned with the concept of analogical thought, with personal intuition as a tool, Gironès designs by making use of two key factors: limits, as a working space, and time, as a part of the process of building his creations.
