Abstract

The normalization of violent practices in sexual relationships, particularly through pornography, could impact the issue of sexual consent. This article explores how the normalization and eroticization of violent sexual practices, when combined with the capitalist framework, can shape individuals' desires—a key element for valid sexual consent—through the 3AM theoretical model (Wright, 2011). A critical reflection on the configuration of desires is invited, and insights are provided to counteract the potential effects of pornography consumption on individuals' sexual behavior.
