Abstract

The issue of edema is a rare pathology within podiatric practice, but also in cases where we can detect it. It is a bone alteration as a result of trauma, degenerative lesions or metabolic processes, the first of which is the most frequent cause. It has been defined by acute pain in the heel area, it has become generalized over time, as well as redness and swelling of the area. In early stages, the use of NSAIDs or analgesia is recommended, and in more advanced stages the drainage of the area is recommended.
