Abstract
The book of Prof. Terradas brings a new paradigm for the understanding of primitive, ancient, medieval and traditional legal cultures. He bases his study on ethnographic and historical case-law. He shows the values and logics of a complete legal system, far from the ethnocentric bias that has attributed proto-legal or partly legal status to supposedly coarse and unconnected legal phenomena.
